shower base screeds / installations

Allow me to explain as many don’t know that a shower base screed is often an old-fashioned mortar mix that is similar to a concrete mix. It is spread in the area where a tiled shower base will be constructed. It then gets compressed to create a solid layer on top of the subfloor. A slope of ideally 20mm per meter toward the outlet is formed by scraping the surface. This is the foundation of our shower system and it’s the most durable product and method used for tiled shower installations. Curing times can be cut down to three days using rapid screed technology. When using a traditional mortar mix, it will need to cure for a few weeks until ready to receive a waterproof liquid under-tile membrane.
